About Dr. Greenwood

In 2005, Dr. Greenwood was working in corporate America as a billing analyst and decided her career was not fulfilling. Her passion for Health Sciences and her desire to help people stay active, prompted her to go back to school for a new career. She received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a focus in Athletic Training in 2007. After graduation, she continued to have a desire to expand her skillset.

In September 2007, she was accepted into the Army-Baylor Physical Therapy program at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio and commissioned as an officer in the US Army. Upon completing her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2010, her first duty station was in Georgia at Fort Benning. Her leadership and excellent patient care led her to be the Officer in Charge (OIC) within the Physical Therapy Department at the Troop Medical Clinic. She went on to Fort Huachuca in Arizona in 2013 and became the Chief of the Department of Rehabilitation. Her military training included Combatives (Certified Level 1), Airborne School (Class 09-12), COL Douglas A. Kersey Advanced Clinical and Operational Practice Course for Physical Therapy Officers, and Basic Healthcare Administration. In 2013, she became board Certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy. During her career in the Army, she treated soldier-athletics and was able to provide care from time of injury through return to duty in addition to wellness, sports performance, and preventative care. Outside of Dr. Greenwood’s clinic, she worked with several sports teams, including arena football, rugby, and wheelchair basketball.

After Dr. Greenwood left the military in 2014, she began working in other areas including pediatrics, occupational therapy for injured workers, orthopedics, and geriatrics. In 2016, she went back to school at Texas Woman’s University and earned her PhD summer of 2020. Her dissertation work included body weight support treadmill, knee osteoarthritis, and chronic pain.

She is extremely passionate about helping people improve all aspects of their health and became a certified Health Coach in January of 2020. She believes in a holistic approach to both rehabilitation and wellness to help individuals reach their goals.

Dr. Greenwood started Doc Bec Physical Therapy and Health Coaching to be able to provide the kind of medical care she believes her patients deserve. She wants to have the time to get to know her patients and understand their needs. She wants them to be able to easily reach her if they have questions or concerns outside of scheduled appointments. Most of all, she wants to help people achieve their goals and live their best life.
